back court backhand stroke and footwork
part 2
content video:
- common mistake for beginers returning far cout backhand
footwork + preparing ur racquet and the backswing is too short (should be about 180 degree not 90 degree)
lesson learned:
- to retrieve far court backhand:
move fast to get better position before u hit
big backswing by lowering ur arm and swing them about 180 degree
and as always.. need to relax ur grip -.-
notes:
back court backhand footwork consists of either 2 steps or 3 steps. at the initial movement, the right foot should move half a step in front of the left foot to help turn the body. hit the backhand at the same time as the final step lands on the ground.
this is not only helps generate powewr, it also makes it easier to recover after the shot.
to hit a backhand far, you must use finger power, concentrate on generating power and take a bigger backswing.
the contact point must not be behind your body.
always try to hit the shuttle either beside or in front of your body. (dont be late to meet the bird..)
